Dedicated to the memory of Afshaan Nadeem

Afshaan Nadeem the wife of Fas Nadeem (ex Nationwide and Natwest) of Didcot, and the daughter of Athar Chaudhry (ex Oxford Mail) & Nasim Chaudhry (ex Research Machines) of Abingdon passed away in her sleep in the early hours of Saturday 27th March 2010.  The sudden news of her passing away not only shocked her family, friends, and neighbours but also touched many other lives in the local community, across the mainland and all over the world as her family and friends got the news across all the continents. This page is dedicated to her memory and we know that she would have loved it as she dedicated her life for her two boys and many a children and young people she worked with.  Please instead of sending flowers or any such items to her family donate to this NSPCC tribute fund as much as you can, a charity chosen by her family and she would be proud to know that you, her loved ones and well wishers will be giving to a great cause that she deeply believed in.  Please donate, write in the visitor's book, share memories and light a candle. She is watching down on all of us from heaven. She will always be with us; we just have to look into our hearts.  Afshaaan has left two lovely sons Humza Nadeem 18 yrs (ex St Birinus School Didcot) and Ehsen Nadeem 14 yrs (currently at St Birinus School) who are missing her but at the same time are extremely proud of her legacy.Afshaan was born on 28 July 1967 at John Redcliffe Hospital (Oxford).  She was the youngest sibling of three - sister of Rizwana Chaudhry and Suhail Chaudhry. Her parents moved to Abingdon and that is where she went to Rush Common Primary School and Fitzhary's Secondary School. After acquiring her BTec in Business Administration from Oxford College of Further Education Afshaan worked for Touchwood Sports in Oxford (1986-1987) and then got married to Faisal Nadeem (also known as Fas) on 16 August 1987 on a lovely hot summer day.  Afshaan then worked for BT in Oxford (1988-1992) and left BT after the birth of her first son Humza in 1991 to look after him.  Afshaan loved children right from her youth and use to look after all the younger children at all her family gatherings.  After her second son Ehsen was born in 1995 she decided her future working career must be to the benefit of children and young people.  Afshaan worked at the Ladygrove Preschool Didcot (2000-2001), All Saints Primary School Didcot (2002-2008) and finally Fitzharry's School Abingdon (2009-2010) where she was working with some special needs children on a one to one basis.  Her last memory of the school is that she was seen holding the hand of an autistic child and walking him to his lift.Afshaan also dedicated some time working as a voluntary youth worker at The Vibe Youth Centre, Didcot (2007-2008).  She understood problems of the local youth and had all the faith in them to do the ‘right thing'. Afshaan was the most loving wife, the most dedicated mother, and the most caring daughter, sister, friend and children's worker.  Afshaan's untimely and young death has touched the lives of many she knew in her local communities in Didcot, Abingdon and Oxford.  She wore her heart on her sleeve and had time for everyone as she showered them with her love and care and she will be sorely missed.  May Allah bless her soul and may she always rest in peace.PLEASE KEEP REVISITING THIS SITE AS TIME PASSES BY I HOPE IT WILL CHANGE AND EVOLVE WITH THE AIM TO KEEP SUPPORTING THIS GREAT CAUSE I.E. NSPCC.  Fas Nadeem--------A PERSONAL TRIBUTE FROM FASWhat Afshaan meant to me I can not describe in words - but I'll try.Afshaan it was exactly 25 years ago on a warm spring day in my parents lounge back in Lahore that I put the engagement ring on your finger. It was Saturday 20 April to be precise and you were only 17 yrs old and I was 23. You wore this beautiful white and red Sari and I was wearing a white kameez shalwar. When I held your hand and put the ring on your finger I must have had the brightest and the biggest smile one can ever wish for. You looked so radiant, beautiful and innocent with skin like honey and smell of roses you came into my life like a fresh breeze. It was the hot summer day of 16 August 1987 when we got married at Abingdon Town Hall. I was a nervous wreck that day and you had a cheeky look as you wanted to see everyone who had made it - nosy as ever and a great people's person that you were. Then there were the two happiest days of our lives when we were blessed with Humza and Ehsen our two gorgeous sons. May Allah give them the strength and guidance to fulfil all your dreams and they become as loving and caring as you.Afshaan you were not only beautiful and pretty on the outside but even more beautiful on the inside you had a simple, calm, dignified, loving, caring, happy, and optimistic outlook an ideal complement to my complex, so called intellectual, on the edge and realistic personality.Afshaan you gave me the happiest 25 years of my life and I will always cherish your uncompromising love for me. I know you had a heart of gold and now I realise why you looked so young and ageless as you were so… so… special. There is a saying in our culture that if a man is blessed his wife will turn his life into heaven on earth. What can I say you were my heaven on earth my darling. May you rest in peace for ever and enjoy the love of Allah as I am sure he will be showering you with his love wherever you are. The road ahead without you is going to be bumpy and I am praying that Allah will give me strength and will continue to shower me with his blessings too. I miss you so much..FAS
